Estate Grown Vineyard
Garners Heritage Wine is single vineyard, estate grown on 4.5acres in the foothills of the Strathbogie Ranges in Longwood East.
They say 98% of a good wine is made in the vineyard so we made sure the fruit which reached our wine maker was only the highest quality. All hand tendered, limited cropping, hand harvested, crushed within a couple of hours of picking and fermented in open casks. Hand plunged daily for 2 weeks then racked and matured in new and old French and American oak puncheons.
The French oak was sourced from the Troncais Forest where Napoleon had planted oak trees for his ships. The oak then shipped to cooperages in SA and lightly toasted.
